Guys this is the time to rest and prepare mentally. Get that fire inside of you burning hot, so that way when you walk out on that you are determined and ready to fight. Do not take these days to get the “ants in your pants” out by hopping around and drilling. That will only affect your performance this weekend. Your body is going through a lot of weird things right now. It is in that fight or flight mode so its hard to eat, hard to sleep. and hard to sit still. But control your mind! Just like you have the ability to control the muscles in your arm to lift it you can control your brain the controlling “muscle” in your head. Do not let IT decide what to do, you tell IT what to do!
Day of, rest. Gets some great sleep the night before and get there calm. Do not worry about the other matches. if you need to coach and help out that is great but do not get too hyped up before your match. Watching other matches will get you anxious.
Also do not warm up until you know for a fact that your match is very soon. You see that one guy always in the corner with his jump rope jumpin around every half an hour all day because he thinks “i need to stay warm” then he goes out on the mat and has zero energy. Don’t be that guy. Be smart. Lay down. Talk to a friend thats with you. Listen to your walkman as jeremy calls it still.
